With more than 3 decades as professionals in their chosen fields, Stephanie and Rich Marulli are enjoying retirement by establishing a business in a new industry. Rather than working for someone else, they chose to begin their home and business inventory service in Leland, North Carolina.
Business ownership is not new to them, as they have owned their own orthodontic office. Rich maintained a private practice in Edison and Metuchen, New Jersey until his retirement in 2015. He was also a clinical associate professor in the Department of Orthodontics at UMDNJ for many years. His credentials are impressive, having earned his BS in Biology from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey and his DMD from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ in Newark, New Jersey (currently Rutgers Dental School). His postgraduate degree is in the specialty of Orthodontics from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
While at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey, Stephanie earned a BS in Biology and a Teaching Certificate in Comprehensive Science, as well as an MA in Molecular Biology. Using her selected educational path, she taught high school biology in Hawthorne and Ramsey, New Jersey for 35 years. She retired in 2014.
Stephanie and Rich married in 1979 and their son, Rich, is a professional golfer and currently resides in Colorado.
After retirement, the couple moved from New Jersey to Leland, North Carolina, where they started Home Sweet Home Inventory Specialists in 2018. Believing this service to be very beneficial for homeowners and business owners alike, they welcome the opportunity to approach this venture together.
While researching the many opportunities for entrepreneurship, they chose the contents inventory service because it allows them to develop a business that is suited to their needs. One of their goals for their business is to offer a service that gives them the opportunity to help people with the same honesty and integrity that they demonstrated in their previous professions.
In speaking with people before and after retirement, they learned that a home inventory is something that most people would like to do, but never seem to have the time to actually complete. Since hurricanes, lightning strikes, and flooding are major concerns in North Carolina, an inventory business is the perfect opportunity to provide people with peace of mind. Peace of mind that they can quickly and accurately file an insurance claim due to a loss and relieve much of the stress which inevitably accompanies these unforeseen events.
In addition to being business partners, Stephanie and Rich both enjoy the great outdoors, especially the mountain region of the western United States, where they hike, ski, and snowshoe. Another activity that they enjoy, and that business ownership allows the opportunity for them to pursue, is traveling. The couple and their son have visited many parts of the world and enjoy the unique experiences each trip provides. Stephanie also devotes her leisure time to photography, biking, playing pickleball, and working part time with an interior designer. Rich is an active member of the Leland Area Rotary Club, which is a wonderful service organization. He also enjoys working out, reading, and helping neighbors with projects in their homes.
Home Sweet Home Inventory Specialists, LLC provides contents inventory services for homes and small to medium businesses. Certified, bonded, and insured, they serve clients in eastern North Carolina.
